Responsible choice begins with knowing what a product is, where its gemstone material comes from and which claims are supported for that specific piece.
A different path from traditional gemstone mining
Lab-grown gemstone material is created in a controlled laboratory environment, so producing the stone does not require extracting that gemstone from a traditional mine. This different origin can address concerns associated with unknown mined origins, while still requiring honest consideration of energy, materials, manufacturing and the rest of the supply chain.
What “Ethical & Sustainable” means at LumGem
For LumGem, it begins with transparent lab-grown origin, clearer product information and fewer unsupported assumptions. It is not used as a blanket claim that every component has zero carbon impact, that every supplier has received the same independent audit, or that an entire supply chain is universally conflict-free.
Authenticity records and independent reports
Every product has an online LumGem Certificate of Authenticity record issued by the LumGem Laboratory and available for lookup. It records the identity and specifications verified by LumGem. It is not an independent GIA, IGI or other laboratory grading report unless the product page specifically names a real institution and report.
Customers who want additional independent testing may submit an eligible stone or piece to an appropriate laboratory. Laboratory, shipping, insurance and any setting or removal costs are the customer’s responsibility, and eligibility should be confirmed directly with the laboratory.
What to check before purchasing
- The gemstone name and lab-grown disclosure.
- The selected metal, dimensions, size or chain length.
- The complete product imagery, video and available on-body media.
- Whether a third-party report is actually named for that product.
- The current delivery estimate, return process and care guidance.
